技术实习生写的微软实习总结

Time is flying, I clearly remember my first Self Introduction to my Team, writing my intern Commitments to state what I will achieve after my internship, as they are happened yesterday. But this is my last month in Microsoft truly, I think it's time to summary those wonderful time before it’s too later.

Microsoft impress me first is the huge investment in the Infrastructure, which results as a spaciousand comfortable workplace. There are numbers of focus room and meeting room, what’s more the wall in the office building is erasable, so guys in company can discuss and record notes everywhere without any guilty feeling to the cleaner. And even phone booth, where stuff can make call on private things... To be honest, the most exciting things to me are the uninterrupted supply of snacks, fruits and drinks, and the playful facilities in game room.

As a Dev intern, the difference between writing industry program and school project or ACM contest program impressed me most. The prominent is code review process and code check-in process. Code review make me recognize how rigorous the guys in Microsoft are, when I do code review, almost every line of my code will been asked by other team members,what is worse, sometimes I am still been stumped though I do sure I know totally about my code before code review. After the “troublesome” code review, a larger number of test cases will run to test my code before I check in successfully(maybe check-in process is something like ACM contest program).

There are also plenty of interesting activities.

Daily Scrum Meeting, in this meeting every attender needs to tell others what he or she did yesterday and what will been done today.

Weekly TechDisc, during which team members can discuss coding guideline together or some tech issue they experienced.

“Free lunch”, in Microsoft almost all Tech talk will hold during lunch time, and it will provide lunch for free. so Microsoft really has free lunch, and it is not just a lunch.

Work-life balance, Though XXX said, Life and work could not been balanced, by design. But most guys in Microsoft “achieve” it.

One-on-One, which provide chance to talk with others one on one. For me, I will take the chance to talk with my mentor or my manager.

All in all, there are too many wonderful things to record, but this internship definitely will left me with a good memories and far-reaching influence.
